Hellmaw Hound is a hellish, not-so-pretty Morfang that revels in blood and fire.
This is a pretty intense build, so it does take some time and skill development to get used to. Especially because Morfang requires you constantly stay in the thick of the fight. You have to keep moving, move fast, keep on your toes to avoid big hits amongst the chaos, and make use of your whole kit so you do not get overwhelmed.
The build uses high speed, heavy armor, resilience, and massive AOE bleed application to tear through groups while constantly healing through the chaos. But the survivability is not just from stats. You are also using Morfang’s speed, defensive roll, burrow, and float to manage pressure.
Tapping the defensive ability gives you a spammable roll with i-frames, which can buy breathing room, dodge big hits, and reposition. Burrowing helps you avoid pressure and set up your next attack, while floating is especially useful for separating mobs — including annoying healing mobs — so you can break up groups instead of getting swallowed by them.
The main damage combo is built around holding the secondary ability, chaining into the defensive ability, then following with a charged tertiary attack. This sets up full bleed stack,
When the animations and hitboxes line up just right, Morfang can launch itself into the air and start spamming a sort of slam attack without actually touching the ground. Getting that line up is part of what makes it do so much damage. Even if you can't get that down, the main thing is to keep jumping and attacking to get that harder and faster hitting attack.
Oh yeah and this guy can fly too. Not as easy to keep air as my gwigoon builds but definitely covers more ground faster.
The passive setup is the usual bleed package: bleed execute and healing from bleed. But because this build applies bleed so rapidly and in such wide AOEs, it survives most things easily — unless you get double-nuked at the same time like I did at the end.
Immolation adds the fire side of the build by triggering through rapid melee hits and applying burn, so every fast attack helps turn the screen into blood and fire.
And yeah, its just a highly aggressive and somewhat higher skill build that I had a blast with. Hope ya'll enjoy this one.
