Voidling Bound natures: rarity, breeding and dual natures

A nature is a passive attribute boost a voidling is born with. You roll them from eggs (silver eggs always include one), and breeding lets you push the rarity up and merge two natures into a dual. This is all official game data; what we add is the breeding path the community uses to collect them all at top rarity.

What a nature is

A nature boosts one attribute, shown below the voidling’s name with its rarity, and the bonus shows in cyan on the stat. You hatch natured voidlings from eggs, and silver eggs guarantee one (the rarity, and whether it is single or dual, still vary). Golden and silver eggs also improve the odds of rarer natures. Any natured voidling can then be bred to make more.

The five natures and three rarities

Each attribute has its own nature, marked by a coloured symbol on the voidling:
  • Strength → Strong (orange)
  • Essence → Witty (purple)
  • Vitality → Healthy (green)
  • Recuperation → Tenacious (blue)
  • Agility → Agile (yellow)
Each comes in three rarities: Normal (+1), Notably (+3) and Exceptional (+5) to that attribute. Higher rarity also gets a more elaborate border in your inventory.

Breed for higher rarity

When you breed, the nature and its rarity pass down separately. So pairing an Exceptional Witty voidling with a Normal Strong one can produce an Exceptional Strong. That means a single high-rarity voidling lifts every other nature: breed your one Exceptional onto each nature you want, and the rarity can jump straight to Exceptional. In practice you only need one voidling of each nature plus one at Exceptional to eventually get all five at Exceptional. (Only voidlings of the same species can breed.)

Combine into a dual nature

Breed two voidlings with different natures and the baby can evolve into a dual nature that boosts two attributes at once (so +5 to two stats at Exceptional). On that pairing it either just inherits a nature and rarity or comes out dual, so expect a few tries. One rule to plan around: when the parents have different rarities, the dual takes the lower one. So bring both single natures up to your target rarity first, then breed them together so the dual keeps it.

All the combinations

The five single natures combine into ten duals (Strong + Witty = Ferocious, Healthy + Agile = Spry, and so on), for 15 natures in total. You can see the full grid in the Codex. When you have the nature you want, plan a build around it in the Splicing Simulator, and use the fast-breeding guide to run the breeding cycles faster.
